SignVisions Partners with General Contractor and Installs ADA and Braille Signs at BMW Training Center!

You already know SignVisions as the full-service sign shop for local business communities, school districts, and non-profit organizations. But did you also know that our shop routinely works with general contractors in and around the counties of Fulton, Clayton, Fayette, Spalding, and Coweta? Cases in point are the ADA and Braille signs for general contractors we finished not too long ago.

Case Study: ADA Signage for the BMW Group Training Center

Located at 1965 Convention Center Concourse in College Park, the BMW Group Training Center is a 53,000-square-foot facility that was developed with a $17 million budget. Set on a 4.51-acre lot, the facility has a large draw. While winding down the project, the general contractor reached out to SignVisions and requested that we provide ADA signage for the location.

The contractor had highly detailed and specific requirements for the signs’ appearance, sizing, and brushed metal finish. Moreover, the client was precise regarding the materials our shop was to use along with the required deadline that we were to meet. Could we assist this general contractor with getting the project across the finish line? Of course!

Our team followed the specs we received, manufactured, and installed about 40 room signs. These went throughout the facility. While installing the products per the mandated ADA requirements, we worked around other construction crews that were putting their finishing touches on the project. Now, these brushed metal signs with high-contrast color displays and Braille II dots identify spaces from the “motorcycle practical workshop” to various classrooms and offices.

Working with General Contractors on Signage Projects

Our number one goal when working with general contractors is to make them look good. Doing so requires a three-fold approach.

  1. Flexibility. When working with a business owner in the area, we have a direct contact and schedule the installation to work around the company and its customers. However, when working with a contractor, it is essential to get the details settled in one communication and then work around various trades that also need to access the space.
  2. Budget. The general contractor has a specific budget they are working with. Our shop has to come in on budget for the project. There is no room for errors.
  3. Schedule. General contractors run their projects on tight schedules. As a result, project management requires them to navigate obstacles by stacking trades and others who need access to the venue. Therefore, our sign shop must be ready when the contractor needs us to be there. Moreover, we have to complete the project in the time slot we are allotted.

As you can see, our sign shop brought precision, timeliness, and high-quality workmanship to the job. We got it done on time and budget.
